8 Random Facts…

Okay, so Becky Miller from "A Christian Worldview of Fiction" has tagged me. Yup, my first thought too. What does that mean? I was beginning to think I'd need to recommend some sound Christian counseling for Becky. After all, pyramid schemes are not very Biblical. But…turns out, this "tagging business" is not so sinister. Here are the rules:

The first rule of the game, however, is to post the rules of the game. Here they are:

  • Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
  • People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
  • At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
  • Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

  • My only problem is that I don't know enough bloggers who haven't already been tagged. lol

Anyway, here are my 8 Random Facts:

#1 I used to play lead guitar in an 80's Heavy Metal Band.

#2 I was introduced to Jesus in a strawberry field.

    #3 I collect hot sauces.

#4 My favorite recent movie was LOTR (duh)

#5 My favorite movie prior to that was The Matrix (not the sequels).

#6 My favorite movie in high school was The Breakfast Club.

#7 I used to have blond hair down to my shoulders (see #1).

    #8 I dream of having a medieval-themed basement.

    And now, who to tag:

    • Michelle Black
    • Mark Goodyear
    • Kevin Lucia
    • Chris D
    • SolShine7
    • Gene Curtis
    • Leathel Grody
    • Jim Black

The Breakfast Club!! OMGoodness! My parents got that from Netflix and we watched it.
I thought it was gonna be SUCH a boring movie (due to the exciting title and all). I ended up liking it, despite the language in it (yowza). Good movie.

Yeah, the language is extreme and somewhat constant, but the message of the movie is so strong and needed. If only all teens could see through facades so clearly...

I've seen that movie SO many times. It's a classic for sure. I am always surprised by the language because it's not memorable to me. I tend to filter through the bad stuff in the media as much as possible. (Of course, this is coming from a girl who refuses to watch the news because she finds it too depressing and negative. Add grain of salt.)

The Breakfast Club! Yahoo! (Though I have to admit I was more of a Ferris Bueller fan. "Bueller....Bueller...?")

I liked the Matrix sequels for their great action, but they let the air out of the Matrix mythos, I think.

Hmmmm...long blond hair. Heavy metal guitar. Hey, I'd pay to see you. :)

Becky tagged me too. Silly girl. She had no idea what she was asking. :P

    And John Hughs Rocks!

Breakfast Club (I was the girl in black, hair all in her face, when I was in high school--it was actually scarry how much we were alike)
Ferris (what isn't awesome about this movie?)
Sixteen Candles ("Wa's happenin' hot stuff?")
Pretty in Pink (Ducky is so cute)
Some Kind of Wonderful (Ah, so romantic)

I was so sad in high school. I had all these movies memorized. My friend and I used to quote them during P.E. when we got bored.

That and Hairspray--the stupidest movie ever but we watched it a thousand times. "Special ed, in the red!" and least we forget..."Turn that racket down, I'm tryin' ta iron in here!"

You kind of had to be there.

Okay, that's enough of embarassing myself...

I must insist, however, that you post a piture of yourself with long blond hair, Wayne. :D

Hot sauces, eh? I bet my son would like to compare collections! I played too.

My favorite hot sauce is XXX Desert Pepper Habanero--all the flame you could want but still lots of flavor. ;-)

And Pixy, you had to ask. See the next post.

Totally cool Mr. B. If only I had been around to hear your band play.

This is so off the current topic, but I'm in now. I can't believe how long it took to find one of those silly books. You wouldn't think other people like Tolkien as much as I do. lol. I'll leave comments as I finish a chapter.

Pretty cool that you were in a rock band. And i collect hot sauces too!

My husband's life wouldn't be complete without hot sauce. He can't eat a piece of pizza without Frank's Red Hot.

Speaking of 1980s teen flicks, I also watched the Corey Haim/Corey Feldman flick License to Drive, which was a big mistake because I hadn't had my driver's license yet, and that driving supervisor in the movie was very scary, a really stern guy, so I got spooked when it came time for me to get my license.

Thank you, Wayne, for tagging me. At this moment in time. Oh, it couldn't have been in January. No, it's during baseball season and teacher appreciation week.

BTW, OUR PTA washed the staff cars this week for teacher appreciation, gave them a pot luck breakfast and catered lunch. And today the kids are bringing flowers and notes about why their teachers are so special.

Where was I? Oh, yes, the tag.

    I'm on it now.

And I never did like Ferris when it came out. I thought he was a jerk. NOW, I wish I was more like him.
