The Joy of Clicking SEND

I just sent the manuscript of Isle of Fire off to my publishers. I cannot tell you what a magnificent feeling of exhilaration that was. The joy, the relief...the cosmic sigh. lol

This was by far the most difficult book to write--not because there were problems with the plot or writers block. But the deadline was the tightest I've ever had. Up til now the fastest I've ever had to write a book was 5 months for Rise of the Wyrm Lord. This one, I had to write in a little more than three months.

There were many times when I just didn't think I would make the deadline. There were times when I wanted to quit. This has been a tough fall for me and my family. Stealing hours and days from my wife and children just as the kid begin the school year and my wife begins a new career was not what anyone needed.

The thing is, God made it happen. God was faithful with the ideas. He supplied the time through those around me and various amazing circumstances. And the book is finished and off for review.

Of course, it'll be back soon. No doubt with many things to fix. {sigh}

Woo-hoo! Must be quite a load to get over with it! Of course, without meaning to cast a shadow over it, now comes the long period we call "reviewing". Keep up the good work!

I can't wait. Isle of swords was a great novel and I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. Do you have any rough estimate on when it might actually be released.

Congrats, Sir Wayne!
I'm so delighted for you. I KNOW how hard this was.
I was praying.
God is so amazing and faithful.
I pray He blesses you with extra good family time during this stretch before you get editorial notes.

A-men Lady Sharon, amen. I do pray that the time you have now m'lord will see the cords of your heart knit fast with your lady wife and lovely children, and theirs with yours. Please pass along our gratitude for their sacrifice that you could get this tome finished.

Congratulations!

I must say I am astounded at your output down to the wire. Almost 26,000 words in 11 days!! Whew!

I'm happy if I can get 1/10th of that in the same time frame.

So, if you have a publisher, you send them your book manuscript, then they'll send it back for "corrections"?

Thanks all, esp. for the prayers. You should have seen me writing furiously those last couple of days. God was just dropping the coolest ideas into my mind, and I was literally grinning like an idiot and spinning in my chair with excitement.

Isle of Fire should be out Spring 2008. And yup, I've sent it off for review and many edits are sure to follow.

Never alone.

Wow, that's good. Getting the first book out in fall and having the next book out in spring. Great for types with me who struggle with patience.
