Extremely cool! It would arrest my attention, I would pull the book off the shelf flip it over and read the back. Then being futher hooked, I'd grin and tuck it under my arm and head for the check out, sure I'd just discovered another favorite tale. I love that feeling

Anonymous said...

I would SO pick this up and check it out. Great cover!

everlastingscribe said...

There, I set it as my Xanga profile pick, I had the "The Final Storm" and now that one's up instead. LOL someone has to let the x-heads know what the next awesome read is ;)

amy said...

WOW!!! Now I'm stoked! I can't wait. It's going to leap off of the shelves at people. Bookstores better get that giant table in the middle of the entry ready with the big sign that says, "Read this - it's AWESOME!"

WayneThomasBatson said...

Thanks, All!! That's very encouraging. I'll send the praise to TN's remarkable design team.

Now, if we could just get that new section in Borders, the "This is Awesome" section... ;-)

Josh said...

ooo ive hear of that one also referred to as the giant table in the middle of the entry with the sign that says "READ THIS ITS AWESOME" i can only praise you enough amy lol

everlastingscribe said...

:-D definately a home-run for those talented people. I shouldn't be thinking "I have a Batson book in Blue, in Purple, and in Green, oooh look now I'll have one in Red/Orange."

Anonymous said...

LOL Scribe!!!!

Josh said...

JUMPIN' HORNY TOADS!! I'm pecking away at the keyboard at 9:20pm, and my wife calls up the stairs, "Honey, there's a FedEx package out on the porch."

Any guesses as to what it was?

Carefully wrapped in a bubble envelope and double-taped…

amy said...

I know! I know!

Is it The Isle of Swords? The very first copy just for you?

Mr. B and Josh - I'm glad you guys liked my idea. I think I'll start a letter writing campaign to make it all happen. J/K. It would be cool though.

Anonymous said...

Grrr just open it open it open IT!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!! (Watch it be something silly) ;-)

amy said...

Okay - what Suspense Technique # will this one be?

amy said...

The FedEX technique?

Anonymous said...

*lol*
*Bounces off walls with excitement*

WayneThomasBatson said...

Fed Ex Technique! That's hysterical. Can I use that? Please!

Now, where was I…oh yes. So I carefully snipped through the folded over edge of the bubble bag. The halogen kitchen light was not enough to see within the shadowy confines of the cave-like entrance of the envelope...

Poo.

amy said...

You're more than welcome to use any of my ideas - I would be honored. Of course - only if you quit toying with us....

LOL! I love it!

A hand crafted, etched, beautifully deadly dagger?

everlastingscribe said...

A REAL dragon?

amy said...

Oooo - yes - sharp pointy things!

everlastingscribe said...

Portal to the Realm?

amy said...

The actual Scrolls of Alleble?

Anonymous said...

Your Paragor flaming mace when you become him in the movie?

amy said...

A clay pot that suddenly appeared on the porch in a FedEx envelope!

Anonymous said...

Falon's Talon? Ha ha I rhymed!

amy said...

Mr. B you're enjoying this way too much...

amy said...

A letter that starts out "Adventures are funny things..."?

Anonymous said...

amy said...

*double sniff*

I have to leave in 3 minutes.

everlastingscribe said...

Oooh, nice one Amy!

amy said...

I guess I'll have to wait until later tonight...

Bye everyone!

everlastingscribe said...

Anonymous said...

Good night Amy! God bless!

amy said...

Thanks Scribe!

*sniff*

I really should be going now, farewell to all those who will remain after me - may my sacrifice only lead to greater joy for those of you who remain...

everlastingscribe said...

Knight night Amy. ;)

Anonymous said...

Always writing lol
Mr. Batson's teasing and mocking us cruelly......

WayneThomasBatson said...

And I reached into the bag and pulled out the very first Advance Reader Copy of Isle of Swords!! YESSSSS

You should see the cool pages and watermarks--very much like the Door Within quality--cool compass hiatus marks and pirate ships on every chapter page!

Suh-Weet

Sorry to keep you all so supended. Okay, well maybe I'm a little sorry.

Anonymous said...

Better be :)
Congrats and bravo to you!!!
GIMME!!!!!!!!

everlastingscribe said...

You are so SO not sorry ;)

But definately Congrats, from story to book and in your hands, I can't imagine the feeling. I hope to one day however :-D

Anonymous said...

Wait.....FedEx comes at 9:20 at night???? Wow. Man you got good service. Unless of course you didn't see it until then *snicker*

WayneThomasBatson said...

Yeah, go figure...9:20. Maybe the snow and ice has delayed stuff and now they are working overtime. For whatever reason, I'm grateful.

everlastingscribe said...

Oh, I would think that they would have seen it :-D It likely glowed, hovering over the ground, was surrouned with heavenly music. . .you know all the things that make it impossible to miss. . .

everlastingscribe said...

Better than it being incapsulated in the ice. LOL now that would be a way to torment any author, first copy of their new book in a ziplock bag, and that frozen in the center of a block of ice the size of their car.

Oh, I must remember that

Unknown said...

finitely pick this one up. Great cover! Love the art and the colors.

Unknown said...

That was supposed to be "I'd definitely pick that one up..." I'm not quite sure what happened there. :-/

Josh said...

oooo a nice shiny new copie of isle of swords my mouth is watering. The agony the pain i must not wait any longer. okay i exaggerated a bit but not much lol. I missed all the excitement because i was watching csi bummer lol, i am sooooooo envious thou hehehehehe now i sound deranged and creepy

everlastingscribe said...

Nahhh, it's all Lord Batson's fault. He started our wanting to read the whole thing with his ''previews''

Josh said...

I see blame it on the author lol ^_^

everlastingscribe said...

Oh most definately blame it on the Author :-D All his fault.

amy said...

Yay! So do we win points for guessing correctly? Or - well, I suppose I'll just be content with the fact that we now actually do know what it is. Who knows?! We may get copies of Isle of Swords for a prize for the contests - so I'm okay with that.

I'm just glad you get to look at the finished product of your labor, Mr. B. Congratulations! You've earned this moment.

Cecilia said...

I just asked my mom, who works at Borders, if she would have them put the books on a table in the middle of the floor like you were all talking about:-D I don't know if she has the power to do that though;-)Hehe.

Anyway, great cover! The colors are very nice. And it would deffinately draw my attention in the book store!

amy said...

Hey thanks Cecilia!
The idea has just caught on. It could happen. My dreams may some day be reality.
(*note dramatic delivery)

Cecilia said...

If that ever happens, I'll have her take a picture of it:-) It's very possible too, I always see their featured books out on big tables...I don't know about the sign though;-)
