Cue Dramatic Music and Fanfare: Announcing the Title of Berinfell Prophecies, Book 3

Greetings and a very fond hello from Tannersville, PA, the new location of Christopher Hopper and my Writer's Bootcamp. We are ensconced in a hotel that is literally built into the side of a mountain, and madly chewing away the hours of Saturday with a frenetic display of head-to-head typing. Seriously, we are hitting the keys so fast and for such a prolonged stretch that our fingers are beginning to tingle. :-D

{Hey, Wayne, shut up about the writing already and get to the title!}

Oh, oh, right! The title. The title for Berinfell Prophecies Book 3…that title? {YES! THAT TITLE!}

Right. Now to it! The title for Berinfell Prophecies book 3 is:

The Tide of Unmaking

{Um, Wayne, I don't see anything there. Where's the title???}

You have to work for it. Just click in the open space above and highlight the invisible text. Or, you can just look in the fine print on the photo below!

Mark your calendar. Berinfell Book 3 will release in all formats May 15th. Info for the Collector's Edition Hardback will be forthcoming soon.

What's in a name?

Hi, all! Quick post here. Curse of the Spider King is finished. It releases in October. Now Christopher and I are on to the second book in the series. But this time, our time constraints have made it so that we actually have to title the book before it is finished.

SO, I turn to you. We've outlined the book and know where it's going. So from that, we've come up with two possible book titles. See the poll at the top of the sidebar. The candidates are:

The Berinfell Prophecies, Book 2: Fall of the Seven

-or-

The Berinfell Prophecies, Book 2: Venom and Song

Which do you like and why?

Oh, and thanks!

Upon further review...

Well after long deliberation…none of the newly brainstormed title options came out on top. Turns out my favorite, Cauldron of Fire, gave too many witch vibes. So, my publisher went back to an earlier list of possibilities and chose my daughter's idea as the title for the sequel to Isle of Swords. And you know what? It fits the story pretty well, but not in the way that you might think. And I'm kinda liking it. Of course, my daughter is deliriously happy. ;-)

And the winning title is...

Probably Crossing Swords. Turns out a pirate novel for YA readers called "Dead Reckoning" came out last year. I searched all over, checking all the names, but never saw that one. Oh, well.

Thanks for all the quick help. You all rock.

A Little Help: Title of Isle of Swords Sequel

Hey, Blogfam, I need some opinions. As you know I'm feverishly pounding the keys on the sequel to Isle of Swords. I had a title for it, but it lost its luster as I realized it gave away something important for the first book--not a good thing when you want people to read the first book. {ahem}

So, I've got a new title in mind, and I want to run it by you. Here's what I need if you are willing to lend aid:

1. Does the title grab your attention?
2. Does the title promise danger, action, and adventure?
3. Given the target age, middle school on up, is the title appropriate?
4. Do you see any problems, unintended connotations, etc?

The tentative title is:

Rain of Fire
