Ghost: Book 1 Cover Image is Here!

Hi, all!

I just received the final cover art for my first supernatural thriller: GHOST. This is for older readers, probably upper high school on up. Definitely *NOT* for my usual YA audiences. Nothing gratuitous or seedy, but definitely intense, scary, and dealing with mature subject matter.

My plan is to release GHOST on July 1st for all formats: Kindle, Smashwords, Nook, CreateSpace, etc. etc. Just in time for the "Beach Reading Season!"

So here's the cover! Let me know what you think. Is this the time of book you'd pick up?

In the meantime, I'm working on the manuscript. I'm also looking for a professional editor with reasonable rates. Also looking for someone to do the formatting for the ebook uploads. I have a service in mind, but they are rather expensive. So, if you have expertise in either area, email me! Thanks!

Wow—I'd totally buy that. I'm going to have to hurry with my eReader savings!

I guess I don't know what "expensive" is when talking about editing books, but K.M. Weiland edits manuscripts for $69.99 per chapter: http://wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com/p/story-consultation.html

YAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHOOOOOOW!!!! :D :D :D

I am definitely looking forward to this. :D It reminds me of the cover for The God Hater (which I really liked).

I believe MobiPocket Creator is free, and it allows you to convert it to Kindle format, PRC I believe. I used it to download my own novel onto my Kindle, it works fairly well. I don't know if it allows you to edit and rearrange the HTML, though.

Awesome cover, Wayne! I really like the green glow ... and the "BATSON" in bold is eye-catching and excellent to build name recognition in a new market.

it looks... like a movie poster. o_O

Congratulations, Mr. Batson! I look forward to reading it!

I am considering writing an e-book too. I was looking into what you would have to do to format the books and it looks really easy. I know HTML and CSS so that helps. I would be glad to help you with formatting and since I never formatted an e-book before you would only have to pay if you were satisfied with the quality.

Super cool cover art :-) Praying that everything goes well for you. Really looking forward to an all new book by you... so is my mom :-) When you say all formats, does that mean print copies?

God's care,
~Ryan

Hey WTB. Long time no talk. Cover looks good, and definitely more dynamic than a lot of the generic mystery novels. The one thing I'd suggest is tweaking the tag line. "No one gets away with murder... not for long" reads a bit cheesy. That might honestly deter me if I saw it while shopping. Otherwise, looks very good.

I have to agree with Patrick Shan. That phrase above does come across as a little cheesy. Well, not cheesy but a little bumpy. Perhaps it would be better without the "not".

I am concerned, as well, when you advertise on the cover saying that you're the "Best selling author of the Door Within Trilogy" might lead some people who are too young to your book and also lead some people who are old enough away, if only because they think of that series as a YA series.

If you don't think this will be a problem, excellent. You know more than I do, I'm just concerned.

Other than that, it's fantastic. Seriously.

I think I have to agree with Patrick about the tagline. A little cheesy--but overall, I love the cover!
