Tales from the Banshee...

So far, Christopher Hopper and I have dined the Banshee thrice, and in a few moments, I think we will visit once more to revel in the live Irish band…and alas, to bid our new favorite pub a fond adieu.

So far, Writers Bootcamp mission accomplished. Christopher has furiously pounded the keys on his 3rd book (This guy types like 3-4 pages an HOUR--so torches my ponderous keystroking), and I finished a skeleton outline of my next fantasy book. I am SO stoked about this story, and Christopher really helped open the floodgates. I spent most of last night and four hours this morning stewing over some vexing chronology issues with the book (which will be one of 5 books, I think), and I couldn't conjure a way to get to harmonize these major plotlines. Then, Christopher said, "What if..." And BAMM, that fast, I was off and flying. Finished the outline before dinner. God is good. And fellowship rocks.

Here are a few more pics from the Banshee:

Yay! I'm glad to here that it was an iron sharpens iron session for both of you. Funny enough, I just got an invitation to join a writer's group, and here's the kicker, it's mainly Science Fiction/ Fantasy writers and two of them I know are Christians. We are hoping to do some ''virtual'' meetings and then really get together in the summer when everything is slightly less hectic.

Ah, Scribe...I SO recommend it for you--for all writers. Being able to talk, laugh, be stupid with someone who "gets it" is worth triple the price of admission. What a fun night we just had. Writing until we were bug-eyed and then off to the Banshee. We made many friends, gave away some books, but were given much more in return. Chuck Rogers, the father of the owners of the Banshee, sat down in our "Snug" as they call their little anterooms, and told us the lore of the banshee. "Let's sit down and have a conversation," he said. A reminder of what riches there are in a simple chat where there is no TV or Cell Phone or day planner to distract us from the relationships that really matter.

Well thankfully with Halfelven and Rhubarb (not their real names or someone should hurt their parents) I have that kinda-sorta but we are too good of friends to really be any value to each other as critics. I mean to an extent we are but I don't think we dare cut too deep on each others work. :-D So I'm looking foreword to working with people I might not care as much about, if that makes sense. ;)

The Banshee sounds awesome with the added fact that you got the outline of a new series started it sounds like writers bootcamp was successful

PS: did you like the Irish band

We heard two Irish bands. Friday night's was my favorite--totally traditional sound with amazing harmonies. As I listened, I was transported across the pond. ;-)

Can I see the second story in pictures? I seem to have misplaced a wisp.
