New Door Within Forum!

Door Within MEGA-fan Josh Lowe has kindly set up a very (VERY), did I mention, very? COOL Door Within forum for readers to get together and talk about the books--and all sorts of things. It just takes about two minutes to register and The Realm is wide open.

Come join today. Here's the Link: New Door Within Forum

If you are one of the first 100 Door Within readers to sign up, I'll enter you in a drawing for a free SIGNED COPY OF ISLE OF FIRE, due out this August!

By the way, I think Josh is looking for some help naming things, so get over there an lend your immense creative skills.

And a random pondering: If Lord of the Rings fans are called Ringers, what do we call Door Within Fans? Doorers--uh, no. Glimpsers? Realmers? A little help?

And as for your pondering, I think "Glimpsers" and "Realmers" have a nice ring :3

I haven't read Door Within yet, :( so I don't want it spoiled for me....I will join though, once I have read the books!

I COULDN'T JOIN!!!

My computer is messing up and couldn't find the page. AAAHHH!!!!!

As for ian, you HAVE to read them! It's awesome!

And as for the name, I'm a Yewlander, so there you have it!

~Just*Flinn~ said...

It said the URL might be wrong and that the page doesn't exist when I try to join. ARGH!! Help me!

Shane Deal said...

Click the small tiny one at the very very top of the page.

Flinn,

Here's the actual URL. Try this.

http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheDoorWithinForums/index/

~Just*Flinn~ said...

It's not that. When I click the link to join it says : Board does not exist. Make sure you did not mis-type the URL.

Maybe it's my computer. Sigh.

Try this link:

http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheDoorWithinForums/register/

The link in the middle of the page is the wrong one I think.

~Just*Flinn~ said...

Yeah!

Thank you s.j.!

It worked and I'm a member!

If the link isn't working, try the one S.J. Deal posted above.

Oh, by the way, I'm having oral surgery today, so if you could say a quick prayer for me, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. I'll be praying, Flinn.

Well, I said I joined, and I think I joined, but the site says that I am awaiting membership. What does that mean?

Anonymous said...

It means (before I changed settings) that you had to activate your account with the link in the e-mail you recieved. I changed a setting and now all who were Awaiting Citizenship are full members.

Anonymous said...

And I'll be praying for you, flinn :)

wayne-- how about "DOOR-JAMS"

Anonymous said...

Sorry this is a bit random but I've been wondering this for a long while now and it's driving me crazy lol.

Flinn: In your profile thingy it says "...and am in a theatrical sword class!"

What is that exactly? Just curious lol

P.S. Good luck with your oral surgery!! I'm praying for you--that would be one of my worst nightmares! :o

~Just*Flinn~ said...

I'm back and sore, but thanks for the prayers!

piratekatie: The theatrical swords class teaches how to do sword stunts and build fights like what you would see in LOTR or POTC. Sometimes we create big battles, all controlled of course. But it also teaches combat, which is how you would really fight with the sword, not just act with it. Combat battles are more fun because you are really in it for true swordfighting action and to win, rather than fake a fight to make it look real. I often feel like Antionette out there, because we use shinais! If you make it to the advanced class, you are taught with broadswords and live steel. I hope to get that good.

I signed up! :) And the site looks very good! This I'll be fun.

And I think we should just call outselves Glimpses maybe.

Flinn: Oh wow that's really awesome!! Sounds like a lot of fun and seems like a really interesting thing to learn! Thanks for explaining it ;) I had no idea you could learn those kinds of things, I thought only the people in moveies like LOTR, POTC & Narnia learned them lol. Is it hard?

Araken said...

I just joined! I have had a bunch of ideas about a prequel trilogy to DW. I've written them all down in a notebook.

Mr. Batson- please say you'll at least consider them!

piratekatie: It's not really hard. It's like Orlando Bloom said in an interview about the swords part of his role in POTC, it's muscle memory. Once your muscles have memorized the moves, you're good to go. I have beaten boys a foot and a half taller than me. It's fun! No offense to you guys.

I entered! Wooo- hoo! I like glimpsers and realmers, but I think someone should come up with something else, but it's ok if no one can.
Hey, Flin flan, I had oral surgery too! I had it a week ago! Glad it went well! And that sword training thing sounds really cool. I thought the only way to do that was to be in a movie or learn fencing, which isn't really the same. I entered and now i'm just waiting for my entry to get accepted or whatever. Let's share our usernames if they're different so we know who each other are on the forum! I can't wait! :D

er, sorry, flinn fan.
My mom's telling me to get in bed, so I was kind of rushing. Sorry.

My vote would be for Realmers, it has a nice strong sound to it, and it comes off the tongue easier than Glimpsers.

Ah, I would join if I knew I would use the place, alas I have the attention span of a gnat on a caffeine rush, and would be a 'dead' member. :-D The rest of you however, go to go to!

"I have beaten boys a foot and a half taller than me. It's fun!"

lol!! That's so funny!! Wish I could see that XD You must have some awesome skills ;)

I'd love to try that out someday but there's probably no where around here where I could learn :/
Plus I already have horseback riding lessons. Maybe when I'm older and I can drive/pay for things myself I can try to find somewhere where I could learn that...

Scribe: I agree with you, I like Realmers as well ;)

Hmmm...I like Door-Jammers but it sounds like a rock band.
Maybe Realmies or Glimpsites...or even Valithors! ha!
There's always Eliamites (even sounds Biblical)...

oops. I had not seen that Mr Batson didn't like Eliamites.
Hm.
I think I like Realmies.
