Leaving on a jet plane...

Well, ladies and gents, tomorrow at 2:30, I'll hop on a flight for Atlanta, Georgia, the beginning of the International Christian Retail Show, as well as, the kick-off point for the Fantasy 4 Fiction Tour. I hope we'll see many of you out there.

Please keep up the prayers.

I'll be posting a daily journal of the events just to stay in touch with all, so check back often!

Never alone!

Awesomeness, Wayne. I'm praying for y'all. Can't wait to meet you!!!

Count me in! It'll be easier to pray if I know what the four of you are up to on any given day. Btw, I passed along the invite for my bosses to drop by your place at ICRS and they are likely going to do so, if for no other reason than to try for a sword to chase the rest of us with during the coming year. They'll be flying down either Sunday or Monday, and back in time for the signing on the 14th.

and I'll see ya in NY!

Scribe,

Are you going to one of the signings on the 14th? Which one? I'll be at the Richmond one.

Good luck and have fun! Wish I was there, but you have my prayers!

It is the night of a thousand embarrassing typos! Friends don't let friends talk on the phone and blog at the same time!

I'll probably catch up with the FANTASTIC FOUR somewhere in MD. Though, I could hit VA or DE too. But I think that might be slightly stalkerish. ;) Just a tad.

Yeah, the Richmond one is the closest one too me. I thought about following them to MD for the MD signing that same evening, then driving back from there that night or the next morning. But I can't afford that... we'll see *shrugs*

My nephews live in Annapolis, and I would be able to bring them home if I did that, but I wouldn't be able to afford all the gas. *ponders...*

Hey, it's a once-in-a-life time kinda thing ;) if at all possible go to more than one signing. I drove an more than an hour to see Timothy Zahn and while the travel was tiring it is one of my finest memories. I wouldn't trade it for the world. And if you have a costume. . .well that's even cooler! I can bet they'd love to see friendly faces.

Hehe, the first time I met Bryan Davis I drove 8 hrs down to Georgia to do so, and I would do it all over again.

I'm gonna talk with my brother and offer to take our nephews home this weekend, if he'll help pay for the gas. That way I'd be able to kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. Visit with the author's more, and take my nephews home. That way, my brother doesn't have to make the long drive. The Ellicott City event Saturday evening is only 45 min from my sister's house, so it's perfect.

See, now that's the kind of support these brothers and sisters in Christ are going to need! And if my nieces were any where NEAR the reading age, I'd take them too! But they are nearly 2 and just 3 months respectively. Ah well, these authors will be going strong when they ARE old enough to enjoy their writing. I just have to wait. ;)

Hehe, my nephews are 12 and 8. The 12 year old read Raising Dragons last summer, but it's been so long he might need to read it again, if he wants to. He does want to meet Bryan Davis, though (of course... I talk about the man so much, that may be why...)

And I don't really have a "costume", but I have my cloak, so that's close enough! During the colder months it's not uncommon for me to be seen wearing it everywhere ^_^

everlastingscribe said...

Hey if I could beg borrow or steal one, I'd wear it too when it got cold.

Woot! I spoke with my brother, and he's gonna help pay for gas. *runs around screaming*

So, I'll be at the Richmond and the Ellicott City event on the 14th, and quite possibly the Ellicott city or Alexandria event on the 15th :D

Wayne... y'all are gonna get tired of seeing me.

Well hope to see you all in Newark, DE!! I'm sure the drive will be more than worth it! I am praying for all of you! Hope you have a safe trip! Can't wait to meet you in person! I'll definitely be dressing up as I love doing that kind of thing. Hope you all have fun. I'm sure you will meet some awesome people! Well! Good luck!

Hey Pais that is really neat! I hope I see you somewhere in MD!!

That's great, ILHY, or pais, so everyone knows who I'm talking to...

I'm currently working on a tunic that looks likes the one Lucy (my charrie) wears.

Hope ya'll have fun at the signings you make it to! I know I will!

I hope so too, Scribe! All I have is my cloak.. that's my only "costume."

Cloaks are awesome! I'm pattern stalking one myself right now. I have this lovely green 'lining' fabric that screams 'make me into a cloak'

Anonymous said...

My cloak is really nice. It's black on the outside, and the lining is a light purple with silver stars. It's really nice! The clasp is two gryphon heads, and I have two horse heads embroidered on it.

I also have a greek username that I used for a while embroidered on the hood, but I've recently discovered that one of the words means what I didn't think it meant, which is why I changed to Pais Charos (It's explained in one of my blog posts).

I figured I just, uh, won't put my hood on...

everlastingscribe said...

I read about that problem, and am really sorry that you had that to deal with. :( But it sounds fabulous even without the hood. Now big question, did you make it or buy it?

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Made it :D Last March me, Roh another friend of ours, and Bryan Davis' daughter went to the Florida Christian Writer's Conference with Bryan Davis, and afterwards when we went back to his house, the four of us made cloaks :)

Roheryn said...

ih, and making cloaks was very fun!!!

mine ish purple with a dark green lining... and the clasp ish an irish knot with three horses in it...

then, even better, I found a belt that matches my cloak

everlastingscribe said...

Oooh, not only is it a cloak it is a cloak with a story behind it! That is a real treasure. ;) Now I will definitely have to make my own.

everlastingscribe said...

Of course in all my stories the cloaks are the things that are worn hard, tattered, ripped to make bandages, slept in like blankets .. .I wonder if that will change when I make my own. If I get my lazy self in gear I could be ready to wear it at the Ren fest this year.

Roheryn said...

ih... in stories cloaks do tend to be, the rugged, outerwear...
but mine has been! I too, have a tendency to wear it everywhere!
then 'gain, I also am prone to wearing whatever I'm eating!
so... getting out of the car for the play once... I got my cloak COVERED in ice cream... so while, not being ripped up to make bandages, my cloak did get *blinks* Dirty to put it mildly
