Hi, Wayne. This has nothing to do with Children of Hurin, though I did notice the book is number one on the NYT best seller list. Fantasy is HOT!

I wanted to let you know, I tagged you over at my blog for 8 random facts about yourself. Stop by if you get a chance ...

Okay Wayne. You've been offered an official reprieve from my tagging of you and the 8 random facts thing because I can see someone beat me to it. Maaaaan...

Well - you or anyone else for that matter are more than welcome to check out my random facts up on my own blog. I can't wait to read yours, although I do believe we've all learned some pretty random facts here through the Fellowship of the Pen. :)

Hey sorry about the backing out. I wanted to read this, but I totally forgot that this week was finals week. Not much with the free time, if you catch my drift.

Pat, no worries, my friend. I know how that is. I have a feeling this Tolkien chat will go on for quite some time, so if you survive finals and want to jump in, you're always welcome.

And that goes for everyone else. So far it's been Amy and I chatting away, but all are welcome no matter when you start Children of Hurin.

Okay - so to be honest, I actually finished the book yesterday. I will welcome all discussion of this and any other books at any time. I love to discuss good literature and Wayne and I can't help that we're nerds for new books by the father of modern fantasy.

So - anyone have advice about what I should sink my teeth into next? I'm thinking LOTR. Now that I've gotten my Tolkien feet wet, I may be ready to tackle the big ones. I am completely open to suggestion though. Wayne? Scribe? Eve? Anyone?

Amy, did you read The Hobbit yet? I think it'd be a good precursor to LOTR.

Hey thanks Jason! I think you're totally right. That way it's not quite as intimidating to move on to LOTR.
