Green Light for Berinfell 3!

Hi, Faithful Readers and Assorted Elves!

Unlike the poor folks in the cars above, I have good news for you! After months of prayers and waiting, Thomas Nelson has officially made it possible for Christopher Hopper and I to go ahead with Book 3 in the Berinfell Prophecies series! That's right, the long awaited sequel to Curse of the Spider King and Venom & Song is on the launch pad and ready to fly!

The outline is done. We'll take the next few months to make sure it's sharp. Hopefully we'll have the principle manuscript complete by the fall, and have the book ready for readers by the Christmas Holiday season. Initially, we'll be releasing Berinfell 3 as an eBook in multiple formats: Kindle, Nook, .PDF, etc. Also we'll use a print on demand service to do Paperback copies.

And, if we can generate enough interest, we are thinking of releasing Berinfell 3 as a special Collector's Edition Hardback. These would be numbered and signed by both authors and would include exclusive artwork by the authors, readers' guides, and other behind the scenes stuff.

If you're going to post a comment, please let us know what format you'd most like to get!

And thanks to all who have been praying for book 3 to happen. Christopher and I are stoked to get writing, and if the outline is any indication, Book 3 will definitely be the best of the series. Absolutely EPIC!!

Yay!!!!! Thanks Lord for letting this happen! :DDD

I'd most love the Hardback Special Edition version of the book. If not that, then paperback. I don't really have any way of reading eBooks. :(

I'm super happy for you guys! :D

OMGOSH OMGOSH!!!! *freaks out and runs around the house screaming* OMGOSH!!! I can't wait!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D This is sooo awesome!!!!!!! That is so great!!!!! My kids and I have been praying and waiting for Book 3 to come out. It would be nice to have the hardback to go with the rest of them that we have. Thank you to you both Mr. Batson and Mr. Hopper. You work very well together.
GOD bless you both.

I would be extremely interested in the hardcover special edition as long as it didn't cost way too much (I'm guessing it would be around $20 at the most, is this somewhat accurate?)

CMR said...

Oooh! The collector's edition would rock!

Anonymous said...

Do the hard copy! I'm totally stoked!

Anonymous said...

Yeah!!!! I'm sooooo excited!

This sounds awesome, and if the first two books are any indication, this one will be amazing.

I don't have any kind of e-reader, so it would have to be pdf or hardcover, and if the hardcover is awesome as you're making it sound, I'd pay for it (especially since I have hard copies of the other two)!!

I'm so glad God let this happen. Can you please save Jet? The line of Nightwing must not fail!

P.S.
Do you have a title yet?

Anonymous said...

Do the hard copy! I'm totally stoked! Been waiting for this since i got V&S

Emma said...

This is great news!
I would most certainly be interested in the collectors edition but I'll probably get the eBook first.

Molly Evangeline said...

Yay!! I'm so happy and excited! I can hardly wait to see what happens. When it comes out, I'll buy the paperback because I don't have an e-reader and don't like reading on the computer. But if you release the hardback edition, I'll definitely buy that one too. :)

YESS!!!! WOOOOOOT!!! *does a few hundread backflips*

I would save for the Collector's Edition!

Sarah Pennington said...

YES! YES! YES! *Runs around screaming the news* *Emails every friend who's a fan* *Screams more* *Posts on own blog* This is EPIC, Sir Batson, EPIC! I would most want the hardback Collector's Edition, though I'd also be ok with the paperback if I couldn't get the Collector's Edition.

Unknown said...

YAY! I've been waiting for this book for...forever (slight dramatization...). I would most prefer the Hard Cover Special Edition. That sounds amazing...:D Can't wait!
I wish you good writing, Sir Batson! (and write fast...)

Aiwendil said...

I can't wait for it to come out!

I would love a special signed copy, I know tons of people would!

But my question is, where and how would you get them? I mean since there's only limited amounts I'd assume you'd have to get it at a certain place...

Anonymous said...

YAYYY!!!!!! don't worry, there should be enough interest
:DDDD IM SO EXCITED!!!!

Rachel said...

Yay! I can't wait to read it. I was so hoping for anther one. I would like a paperback or hardcover idea because I have apps to read ebook on my touch but I don't read them really and I still prefer acctual books. But, congradulations and I will be keeping my eye out for it.

GOD guy said...

SSSWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I personnally would prefer the hardback edition!

Anonymous said...

Finally!!!! The suspense was killing me. Sign me up for a hard cover special copy.

Unknown said...

I'm not really interested in the eBooks... I'd definitely rather read it as a paperback or hardback. Either way.

Brock Eastman said...

I'll be a bit bummed that it's not case-bound like the other two. I really like having my set look the same and be complete.

But of course you know I am stoked for you!

Brock Eastman said...

I hope you have a case-bound edition to match the other two, nothing worse then a mismatched set.

This is such exciting news!

Timboe Slice said...

I would like either the hard pack collector's edition or the softcover. Really any of the hard copies would work because I don't have an ebook reader; but definitely keep writing the series. Mr. Batson and Mr. Hopper you just can't leave us hanging as readers.

Jake said...

You have heard already of my ecstaticism: however, I will say it once again for emphasis.

Hardback. Or bust.

Christian Bergmann said...

Yeah yaw!!! Can't wait! Personally, I prefer printed versions of books.

R.P.H said...

Way too cool! So happy to hear this and congrats to you and CH :-) My vote is for the special Collector's Edition Hardback with all the awesome bonus material and signatures... by two awesome authors. Oh and the creepy spider picture is just lovely :-/ Thank you ;-)

Robert Treskillard said...

Awesome, Wayne! We'd probably either get the paperback or the hardback.

Anonymous said...

Wahooo! My daughter & I are thrilled!!! We'll get the ebook as soon as it's ready but we'd love the Hardback special edition too. :)

Emma said...

I definitely want the colectors hardback edition to match the set of hardbacks I have now. Plus the extras inside would be sweet too.

TAK said...

YAY!!!!

Sir William said...

Hurrah that you're getting it published!

However, it will be interesting to me to have the first two in hardback and the third in eBook form, so I'm going to have to go for that Hardback Special Edition, because I like my books.
I think eBooks are great, but I'm not going to be satisfied with THIS one in eBook form.

Michael

Sir William said...

*sorry for double post*
Besides the fact that it would be weird to have this one be an eBook, the Hardcover Special Edition version sounds AWESOME, and I would totally buy it anyway.

Micayla said...

YAYA!!! I'M SO EXCITED! the hardback specal edtition would be AMAZING!!!!

Anonymous said...

AWESOME!!!! I would most definetly LOVE the hardback edition, but I can live with paperback. I nearly had a heart attack when I heard the news!!!!! I am SOOOOOO excited!

Jake said...

See, Sir Batson? You MUST do Collector's Hardback! *evil laugh* If not, we shall grab the pitchforks and torches.

Billy J. said...

YAY!! So excited!!! But I'll probably only buy it 100% if its a hard copy. Don't have an e-book, and reading on the computer just gives me a headache. But that special edition sounds epic!!! Must have one, the first two are some of my favorite books, such good characters. CAN'T WAIT!!

Cloe said...

YAY! Oh I can't wait! :)

I'd really love the Hardback Special Edition, if not that one, I'd like paperback. :)

I'm so excited for you guys! :) And to read it!

Anonymous said...

Hardback AND it's a Special Edition!??! Yes!!! No? Then Paperback......I don't have a nook or Kindle....(I think I might have to buy one now. :(

Gabe M said...

YAHOO!!! Can't wait!

The special edition hardcover version sounds epic, I'd prolly get that. If I can't, I'll get the softcover (I don't have an e-reader). I'm REALLY excited about this coming out and I hope it's really soon! :D

Bytheway, are you guys self-publishing (it kinda seems like it) or is it gonna be published through your publisher?

Jake M. said...

YEEESSSS!!!!!

Cacia said...

Awesome! I can't wait to read Book Three.

I don't really have a way of viewing ebooks. I'd prefer a hardcopy. Paperback is fine, but a hardback with special secret stuff is infinitely more appealing!

Anonymous said...

When it comes out there is no doubt I will look for, find and buy that special edition hardback!*runs around screaming so loud that my parents start looking very concerned*

Anonymous said...

Ok maybe I won't be able to get the hardback but I'm still gonna try because I have the other two in hardback and I don't have an ebook thingamagig.

Anonymous said...

Most definitely the special edition hardbound! <3

Anonymous said...

WAHOO!! Praise the LORD!! This is awesome news!! I've waited so long... but I can wait longer.

I'd like the special edition hardback version. It's going to look great next to all of your other books.

YIPPEE!! Will be emailing all my friends!

As soon as I read your post I sent it to my friends! I am so excited! Your books are some of my favorites!
Because I don't have any way to read eBooks I would only buy a hard copy. The special hardback book sounds great!

Definitely am excited about the new book coming. I would love getting the special edition hard cover. I LOVE having a real book in my hand and never read ebooks. My vote is for the hard cover for sure. Just wanted to say again how much I really enjoy your books. I was skimming through The Door Within again today, reading all my favorite parts. :-D

Format: I prefer print copies, but the e-format I'm most likely to buy is Kindle, since I have Kindle for Mac, and I'm hoping to get an iPhone.

Emilyn J Clover said...

I'd want the hardcover edition myself since I don't have/want a kindle/e-book/etc.
I don't really want a paper back version because we have the other two books in hardcover, and I just like hardcover better than paperback.

Lady DragonKeeper said...

I think I'd prefer hardcover ... do you have an idea of what the print version, special hardcover, and e-book forms would cost?

Really excited for this!

bookworm0709 said...

We would love the hardback as well as any of the ebook formats. My kids and I are looking forward to book 3 already. Just finished book 1 and am looking to buy book 2. Can't wait for #3.

Sweet! I have been waiting for this FOREVER!!! I think the berinfell prophecies is either your best or second best series (possibly second to the door within. I literally screamed "YES!!!" out loud when I read this article!

ENDURANCE AND VICTORY!

PS: I would be interested in the special edition hard back as the other books I have of the berinfell prophecies are hardback.

ENDURANCE AND VICTORY!!

Adam the wanna-be elf.

PS: Totally go for the hardback! My other berinfell books are hardback so I would want hardback as well. Plus, although ereaders are gaining popularity, paper books are still prominent. So I would do ereader, paperback, and hardback! But if you had a choice stick with paper books...

Anonymous said...

Praise Elohim! I would love a special edition of Book 3. The series is beautiful and I am very glad Thomas Nelson said yes.

I also would purchase it in Kindle if available.
Also a 3rd pirate book would be nice.

Thanks, kaydle50

Fran said...

Yes, we are eager for book 3!!!
Paperback would work the best for us as a book club and for me to give as gifts. A collector's edition would be awesome. I would definitely order one for me and if the price was not prohibitive I would order some as gifts.

Anonymous said...

Yeah!
I really enjoy ya'll's books and am trying to complete my colection. Computers are invaluble for writting books but I would love a hardback.

Anonymous said...

That's awesome!

Hardcover would be the coolest but I wouldn't mind the paperback. I don't own and eBook and I don't plan on it :P

Megan said...

I just finished reading books one and two of the Berinfel series, and I was pretty jazzed when I learned that you guys where making a third.
I would love and definitely buy the hardback edition with all of its goodies inside. Thanks for writing such awesome books!!! I can't wait to see what happens!
Never alone.

HARD COVER SPECIAL EDITION!!! YES!!!

Mrs. C said...

I know my son would want it on hardcover to complete his series (the first two are already hardcover). That doesn't mean we won't ALSO get it on the kindle. The artwork, the look of the pages (the edges or whatever) is a unique aspect of your books that he has enjoyed and is not replaced by the kindle.

You are definitely one of his favorite authors...hands down. He has literally read every book you've written and is waiting on the edge of his seat for more. The next book after Stars in sky, the 3rd of the Berenfill series, and anything else that you end up writing.

That being said...I know you asked this in a separate post but the answer is YES, we (Mom likes your books too) would love to have the thrill of reading another Isle of ?.

Erin said...

Most definitely and ebook. I keep wishing Sword in the Stars was an ebook.

But we would also buy the hardback for our collection, and to be able to share with friends.

Anonymous said...

I prefer a hardback book to paperback since I am adding the series to the school library I currently work at. I do not have a way to read eBooks and may never get one of the various options to read a book on, unless it is a textbook. I may be interested in a kindle in order to read magazines or newspapers. But nothing can replace the feel of a book in your hands.

Anonymous said...

I'd like to get the hardcover; it sounds awsome!(especialy because the other two i have are hardcover):)

Anonymous said...

hardcover! HARDCOVER! hardcover! HARDCOVER! all the way

lorae said...

SWEET!!!!!!!!! I'm in the same boat as Erin and Elizabeth about the ebook and hardcover books. I have the two other books in the hardcover form. Wayne, is Jett really dead? Is there a way that he could come back like Charlie did? Maybe a wisp took his place so the group would think he died when really his healing power saved him and he escaped. Isn't there any possible way? He was totally my fave. PLEASE FIND AWAY TO SAVE THIS HERO. Thanks

Anonymous said...

Question: The first two books were published through a different company, why the switch?

Also, a hardback makes more sense because the first two are in hardback and are destined for the school library. I'm not sure about the signed copy for a library, but if that is what is available, then so be it - I will be purchasing it when it becomes available.

TheMooreSisters said...

YES! I cant wait to read more about the seven lords.

lorae said...

Yeah!!!
Sooo jazzed! I too think that you should try for a hardback special edition. Is Jett really dead though? I mean he's totally my fave! You should seriously try to bring him back. PLEASE!!!!!

We love the Berinfell Prophesy series! Soooo excited that #3 is on its way! We would def prefer the signed hardback, but would be thankful for the paperback as well....we don't have kindle or any other ereaders and don't like them. Just something about the feel and smell of a REAL book you can hold onto...ha!

God bless!

My son loves to have the hardback book in his hands! He's been looking and waiting for a release date. We vote for the special hardcover edition! So far, he's not interested in anything but the real deal in his hands.

We're really excited to know book 3 is coming. I know lots of people like paper books, but we're living in China and books like this aren't available here. We'd love a Kindle version, or an audio version that we can buy as download!

Maggie said...

Oh. my. goodness. this comment is probably really late but i don't care!!!!!!!! my brother and i would LOVE the special edition hardcover for book 3! i'll be watching amazon for the book!

KatC said...

We would definitely go for the hardback collector's edition signed by both authors. Waiting is just not one of our strengths... ;)

JESUSfREAK! said...

Ya' I'm probably late on my comment, but given that theres no date, im leaving a post anyway. Like me, many people dont have easy access to electronic books, so a printed version would be much more satisfactory for those such as myself. Hardcopy? Well, thats when price will come in, if im not mistaken. And btw, i just finished The Errant King, and that has SOOOO many loose ends, so, if possible, after you finish this book, you might consider adding another to The Dark Sea Annals.

Is it out yet?!?!?!?!?!??? I will totally buy any edition you publish!!!!

I love the book and venom and song is so far my favorite and i asked my mom if she could get it for me when it comes out

I would like hardcover most because it is would be more durable than paperback. Also, because it will have bonus material (everyone likes bonus material). If i couldn't get the hardback i would go for the paperback. electronic formats would be of least use to me. I love the books. they are AMAZING!! :) I can't wait for the next one to come out, I'm super-dooper stoked.

I would totally buy the book!!!!! I would also recommend it to everyone I know!! It is such an awesome series!!!
