Instead of being grateful for the freedoms of life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness, most people seem to think they're entitled the attainment of happiness. And "everyone knows" that God is a fun-sucker/happiness-sucker/grumpy-Judge-in-the-sky. So they do away with God in government, school, home, even some churches. Ironic how God is the ONLY way to attain happiness. I guess they missed your blog post about the gospel/good news.

Another popular misconception is that true freedom means no rules. Frank Peretti addressed this topic in "Piercing the Darkness". If there are no rules, no "fences", no boundaries, then there is no way to tell where you are. Without boundaries, all is a void, all descends to chaos. Guilt may be banished, but despair comes to take its place.
True freedom is bondage to True Goodness. There is no such thing as life without bondage. Either we choose to be bound to sin/death, or bound to goodness/righteousness (i.e. following the rules)/life. Many may not like the idea, but... tough. God says that's the way it is. Maybe it's time we line up with reality.

[But I have hope for America. I love this country, I'm proud of the Truth we're founded on and the valor with which we've defended ourselves and others over the years. LORD-willing, we'll turn back to Him and once more be the awesome, bound-to-God country we once were - not perfect, but good (you know, once upon a time, people in this country believed & lived like God exists).]

Romans 6:16, 20-22
"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey - whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? ... When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life."GodsGirl90noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19752207.post-2298506413137488312012-07-03T12:19:18.769-05:002012-07-03T12:19:18.769-05:00Amen!
