But there is just one question I just don't get an answer to. "Why are people evil, gay, etc." My elders always try to explain, but it usually just sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo that I can't understand. Although my pastor did a fine job explaining it, there are still a lot of questions that came along with his answers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19752207.post-2935034138457718462013-03-16T17:52:38.961-05:002013-03-16T17:52:38.961-05:00I just...wow. However, I think that perhaps you misapplied your logic foundations. The argument is simply this: we cannot deny morality, yet demand rights at the same time. Their must be a standard or it's just mob rules in the end. As far as why the Bible, why Christianity? That's a great question. Certainly worthy of research and much thought, as not only this life, but eternity hang in the balance. If I had to try to convince the rest of the world that Jesus is the best way and, in fact, the only way, I would say this:
1) Christianity has the greatest foundation in archeology, history, documentation, world impact, and empirical evidence.
2) When you become a Christian and study the word, life FINALLY makes sense.
3) Last, but most important: Christianity is the only religion where God comes for man. ie: Jesus died for us to pay our debt of sin, a debt so massive that no amount of good works could pay it. Put another way, the supernatural saves the natural. In no other religion do we see this phenomenon. Each other faith is based on works. Work your way to heaven...WayneThomasBatsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15837713579691260482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19752207.post-34201203904661446422013-03-09T14:55:37.856-05:002013-03-09T14:55:37.856-05:00It is probably unhealthy for people to always want...It is probably unhealthy for people to always want more. This is undoubtedly true when it comes to freedoms. That said, this article is based on a slippery slope fallacy, where more freedoms today lead to an unstable, chaotic future. Unfortunately for Christians, the bible is only THEIR holy book. Why should Americans have to follow YOUR book, instead of the Torah, or the Koran, or the satanic bible even? Why should THIS religion get precedence?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19752207.post-17577252398850371702013-03-05T19:32:52.030-05:002013-03-05T19:32:52.030-05:00You're absolutely right Mr. Batson. I am currently writing a persuasive essay on why abortion should be made illegal for school, and it turns out most women who have one abortion have multiple abortions. They're using abortion as birth control. America really needs to start looking to God and the Bible to see what's right and wrong. He's the only thing that's definite and reliable. If He is not our rock and foundation our nation will crumble, and I'm already seeing cracks.Morgannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19752207.post-68337543216908918752013-03-02T18:18:01.393-05:002013-03-02T18:18:01.393-05:00This is so true.
