The Hobbit Movie's Coming...Could The Door Within follow?

You remember that Corner of the Sky Entertainment passed on purchasing the movie rights for The Door Within, but I promised that another opportunity was coming...an even better opportunity.

As of yesterday a very important contact in Hollywood received The Door Within and Isle of Swords books, along with Press Releases for the Washington Post Front Page Article, my appearance on Fox & Friends national TV, the books' appearances on the CBA Bestseller Lists, etc. This contact (no name for his privacy) is very well connected with Walden Media (of Narnia and Terabithia fame), as well as Sunflower Productions (recent Amazing Grace movie).

From the tenor of this man's emails, he seems like a very cool Christian guy. So, if you have any extra prayer time over the Christmas holiday, I'd sure appreciate it. He's expected to read the books over the break and let us know something in the new year.

Never alone.

  8. Righteous dude! (Sorry I've been watching your Fantasy Fiction tour videos like crazy this week my sister and I are starting to pick up lines.)

I hope it comes through for ya... I'll put you on my prayer list... I just finished reading that trilogy last night, couldn't put that last book down easily. It was awesome. I like Kearn... I won't go into more details about what I liked about him because I don't want to spoil anything for your readers. I'm reading Isle of Swords... So far so good!

I've been hoping and wishing and praying ever since I read the first book earlier this year that there would be movies. I've known it inside me that there would be soon. I just wish I knew how soon cause this is driving me bonkers!

  18. That's really exciting, Wayne!

My oldest has read book one of Door Within and is on book two. He likes the 2nd one better but it's still a challenge to get him to read.

Still, I love the fact that he's reading something Christian based and it's imaginative and new.

It sure would be nice to have fresh material on the big screen.

    Have a Merry Christmas, Wayne!

  19. My one friend loved Isle of Swords. You will be happy to know my book club fought over your books at the meeting Tuesday. Quite a funny sight! Anyways, I really hope you get movie rights from the right studio of course. Walden Media would be great. Fine they messed up Dark is Rising, but what they did with Holes, Bridge to Terebithia, Narnia, and soon to be City of Ember. Well those movies are just plain awesome. Wishing you luck man, you deserve it!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, Mr.B, this is great! I sure hope they realize the true potential of a fantastic movie the DW is. Could I ask you of one small, itsy bitsy favor? You know I've been acting for a long time, and you will need someone to play Gwenne, well I'm your girl! Please, just kinda slip my name to the director if you get the movie deal, I would be forever in your debt. I'll keep you in my prayers!

  29. *dies of extreme joy* The Lord be praised! As long as I have breath I will praise the Lord! Glorious is His name in all the earth!

Mr. Batson, I'm so excited for you and this grand opportunity. I'm kinda more excited that this movie could be made than that the Hobbit is going to be made. But it's going to be a big battle. I bet Satan is going to try really hard to stop this from being made into a movie. Its got such a great message. I'm going to continue to pray that God's will, shall be done, whether His will is to get this movie made or not. (Although I know most of us, including myself would rather see it made.)
Thank you so much for keeping us informed about this. I will be anxiously waiting further news about this.

  30. The books would/will (Lord Willing) make such great movies...ive got to talk to my manger about this...ive already told her, gee i dont know a million times that if the books get turned into movies i HAVE to go audition...

God can do anything, trust me i know, my parents got divorced and then remarried EACH OTHER...and if He is willing..it WILL happen

May the King of all things, great, small, earthly, and heavenly watch over you in this time, and may HIS will be done
